Vermont CNC Cobalt Spiral Point taps, manufactured from premium PM cobalt-bearing high speed steel, are designed for the most difficult tapping applications, including heat-treated materials up to 45 Rc as well as softer, high strength materials such as super alloys. With CNC equipment in mind, Vermont closely controls tap dimensions for fast, repeatable tap changes. CNC Spiral Point Taps which drive the chips ahead of the tool are recommended for through holes or blind holes with sufficient clearance (typically 1-1/2" tap diameters minimum). Vermont CNC Cobalt Spiral Fluted taps are recommended for blind holes with limited clearance. TL = Thread Length
